If you’d like a motivational shot in the arm to help you persevere — whatever challenges you face — don’t miss this remarkable presentation by Sean Swarner on Saturday, April 27, at 10:00 a.m. at Norwalk Hospital.
Speaker, author, adventurer and two-time cancer survivor, Sean has scaled remarkable heights — literally and figuratively:
• He climbed the “7 Summits,” the highest peaks on the world’s seven continents.
• He completed the Boston and New York City marathons.
• He crushed the Ironman World Championship, the most prestigious endurance race in the world.
• He trekked to the North and South Poles.
His physical feats are impressive on their own, but given his medical history, they’re extraordinary. Sean was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin’s disease at age 13, and was expected to live just three months. He overcame his illness only to be stricken with an Askin’s tumor, a deadly golf ball-sized malignancy in his right lung. After surgery to remove the tumor, Sean’s doctors predicted he’d live less than two weeks.
They vastly underestimated this young man’s spirit and will to live.
A decade later, and with only partial use of his lungs, Sean burst onto the world stage as the first cancer survivor to climb Mount Everest. He’s leveraged that fame to inspire people around the world as he continues to take on challenges that defy the odds and test his physical and emotional endurance.
“One of my favorite mottos is, 'You don’t have to be the best — be your best,'” Sean said. Join him on Saturday, April 27, and be inspired to do just that.
Admission is free, but seating is limited, so call 888-591-1151 today to reserve your tickets. A reception with light refreshments will follow the presentation. Parking is free. Click here, for more information.
